I'm back from South Africa! 
While I was there I visited the brilliant Cheetah Outreach sanctuary in Cape Town, and they are doing amazing work to support and protect cheetahs and other African wildlife. They have an ingenious scheme going which involves using Anatolian Shepherd dogs to protect farmers' livestock, thus scaring off any predators which would hunt the livestock and would be shot or poisoned for doing so. The results of their labour are fantastic, with cheetah shootings in areas protected by Anatolians dropping by 90-95 percent, and it's obvious how dedicated they are to their cause.
